The Unified Associated Alpha Centaurian and Proxima Centaurian Orbital Colonies, often known simply as Centauri, Kentaurus, or the Centaurian Colonies, is the primary human-controlled system. It is from here that they direct their various colonies scattered across the galaxy, namely the alpha quadrant. The most prominent Centaurian outside colony is the Corporate Association of Centaurian Crab-Nebulan Gas Mines, formerly known as the Crab Nebula. Several other space stations, both orbital and deep space, exist throughout the alpha quadrant.
